Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Vehicle Technician to join our team. You will need to be experienced in all aspects of routine servicing, maintenance, repairs, vehicle diagnostics, with an in-depth knowledge of motor and mechanical elements of different types of vehicles.

Your role as a Vehicle Technician is crucial in delivering high-quality service with exceptional customer experience, built on trust and honesty. Quality workmanship, attention to detail and achieving first-time fixes are core values that guide everything we do. You must possess the ability to work individually or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out standard servicing/repairs, changing tyres, exhausts, and maintenance to a wide variety of makes of vehicles 

  • Complex repairs such as timing belt, manual clutch replacement 

  • Road test vehicles to locate area of the potential problem, as well as occasionally collecting & returning to the customer

  • Diagnose and repair vehicle systems including engine, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc

  • Use diagnostic tools and specialised testing equipment to identify to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems

  • Maintaining equipment and tools

  • Time management and meeting deadlines

  • The ability to organise workload and structure the working day efficiently

  • Ensure all work is carried out to a high standard

  • Complete and fill in all required work documentation clearly and concisely (job sheets, parts used, service records and invoicing system)

  • Confidently interact with customers explaining work carried out or discussing symptoms/issues/problems found with their vehicles as well as costs and timelines

 

Experience and Skills

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a vehicle mechanic, preferable 5 years

  • Full UK driving licence is essential (preferably clean)

  • Good knowledge of automotive systems and components

  • Familiarity in using diagnostic tools and equipment

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team

Job

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 9.00am to 5.00pm, Saturdays 9.00am to 12.00pm

We are offering a salary between £25,000 and £35,000 this is negotiable dependent upon experience.

Applicants must be able to provide references.
